Compositions Each tablet contains : Ranitidine ………………...150mg Dicylomine HCl ……………10mg Description: Ranitidine is an cimetidine derivative and H2 receptor antagonist. It blocks histamine induced gastric acid secretion , cardiac stimulation, Uterine relaxation and bronchial relaxation. They attenuate fall in BP due to histamine .The only Significant in vivo action of H2 blockers is marked inhibition of gastric acid secretion. The most Prominent action is on acid output, Pepsin Content and intrinsic factor secretions which are also reduced. The ulcer healing doses produce 60-70% inhibition of 24 hours acid output. Thus ranitidine has relatively long duration of action and so a single dose of 150 mg effectively suppresses gastric acid secretion for 12 hours. It also has antiulcerogenic effect. Gastric ulceration due to stress and drugs is prevented. It is absorbed orally and absorption is not interfered by food in stomach. Dicyclomine is an tertiary amine used for antispasmodic activity.It also acts as an anti muscarinic compound.This compound depresses all synapses on motor parts in the spinal chord.Thus by addition depressing polysynaptic more then monosyanaptic. Spasmicity is mediaty is mediated by polysyanaptic path. INDICATION: * This combination is for relieving GI spasm . * Also it is used to releave pains due to gastric ulceration. * It is used in conditions for suppressing gastric acid secretion. · Used for duodenal ulcer, Gastric ulcer, Stress ulcer and gastritis. · Used in stressful situations like hepatic, severe burns and trauma. · Zollinger Ellison syndrome, Gastro Oesophagal reflux, Prophylaxis of aspiration Pneumonia and has beneficial action in certain cases of Urticaria. · It also relieves Post operative Gastric ulceration and other hyper acidity syndromes where reduction of spasm due to acidity is beneficial .
