Composition:
Each tablet Contains
Ranitidine HCl
Equ to Ranitidine : 150 mg
Description:
Ranitidine is an cimetidine derivative and H2
receptor antagonist. It blocks histamine induced
gastric and secretion , cardiac stimulation, Uterine
relaxation and bronchial relaxation. They attenuate
fall in BP due to histamine .The only Significant
in vivo action of H2 blockers is marked inhibition
of gastric secretion. The most Prominent action
is on acid output, Pepsin Content and intrinsic
factor secretions are also reduced. The ulcer
healing doses produce 60-70% inhibition of 24
hours acid output. Thus ranitidine has relatively
long duration of action and so a single dose of
150 mg effectively suppresses gastric acid secretion
for 12 hours. It also has antiulcerogenic effect.
Gastric ulceration due to stress and drugs is
prevented. It is absorbed orally and absorption
is not interfered by food in stomach.
