Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Paracetamol ...............450 mg
Glyceryl Guiacolate ........50 mg
Bromhexine Hydrochloride 4 mg
Chlorpheniramine ...........4 mg
Maleate
Ephedrine .................... 5 mg
Description:
Labocof is a cough formulation containing 5 main
components, which act Synergistically to relieve
cough. These drugs competitively antagonize actions
of histamine at the H1 receptors. They effectively
block histamine induced bronchoconstriction, contraction
of intestinal and other smooth muscle specially
wheal, flare and itch. Paracetamol acts as an
analgesic and antipyretic.
Glyceryl Guiacolate is reported to increase the
volume and reduce the viscosity of tenacious sputum
and is used as an expectorant for productive cough.
Bromhexine HCl is a mucolytic used in the treatment
of respiratory disorders associated with productive
cough. Chlorpheniramine maleate and
Ephedrine HCl is used for symptomatic relief of
allergic conditions,
in the management of nasal congestion and in symptomatic
treatment of coughs.
Indications: Labocof is a cough
formulation which acts directly at the cough center
for relieving cough, cold and allergic symptoms.
Dosage: Adults and Children above
12 years old : 1-2 tablets 3-4 times daily.
Children between 6-12 years old : ½ tablet
3-4 times daily.
Children between 2-5 years old : ¼- ½
tablet 3-4 times daily
Contra-indications: Hypersensitivity,
Pregnancy, nursing mothers, Premature or new born
infants.
Side effects : Headache ,dizziness
, dry mouth ,blurred vision
