COMPOSITION:
Each uncoated tablet contains:
Paracetamol .....500 mg
Diclofenac Sodium
as enteric coated ....50 mg granules.
Chlorpheniramine..... 4 mg Maleate.
Magnesium Trisilicate ......100 mg
DESCRIPTION: Labdic relief combines
the above four active ingredients. Diclofenac
sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent
and possesses analgesic and anti-inflammatory
activities and is mainly used for the relief of
pain and inflammation in various conditions like
musculoskeletal and joint disorders such as bursitis,
tendinitis, soft tissue disorders, dysmenorrhoea
and in other painful conditions and following
some surgical procedures. Diclofenac sodium is
used as an enteric coated granules to prevent
side effects of Diclofenac sodium such as gastro
intestinal bleeding, active peptic ulcer. The
efficiency of Paracetamol as an analgesic and
antipyretic is equivalent to that of acetyl salicylic
acid and has mild anti-inflammatory properties.
These effects are related to inhibition of prostaglandin
synthesis. It raises pain threshold and is a good
and promptly acting antipyretic. Paracetamol does
not stimulate respiration or acid base balance
and hence does not increase cellular metabolism.
Magnesium trisilicate acts as an antacid. It reacts
slowly with HCI to form MgC12. It is fast acting
and efficacious antacid. chlorpheniramine maleate
is Histamine H1 receptor antagonist. It undergoes
considerable first pass metabolism.
