COMPOSITION: Each film coated tablet contains: Calcium Carbonate 1250 mg From an organic source(oyster shell) Equ to elemental calcium 500 mg Vitamin D3 250 I.U. Description: Cal D3 is the combination of Calcium carbonate and Vitamin D3 in right proportion, which provides optimum calcium supplements to the calcium deficient patients. Calcium, apart from forming an essential constituent of bones, plays an important role in our body homeostasis, and disturbances in calcium metabolism are associated with derangement of various cellular functions. This combination is used in the formation of bones and teeth. It is also used for improving coagulation of blood , for improving hypocalcaemia which occurs due to Vitamin D deficiency which may in turn may occur in vitamin D resistant states, hypoparathyroidism and in renal failure. Absorption of calcium: It is absorbed from Distal and Proximal small bowel. Absorption of calcium is enhanced in presence of Vitamin D3. Excretion of Calcium: It is excreted in feaces, urine, and sweat. Indications: To improve negative calcium balance which leads to Osteoporosis and Osteomalacia. In coagulation of blood, Hypercalcemia and Hypoparathyroidism, in growing children, Pregnant Women, lactating mothers, in individuals with diet deficient in calcium, in patients with Vitamin D deficiency, Rickets and Osteomalacia, Who are kept on vitamin D therapy, as an antacid, in bone pain, bone healing, Urticaria and intestinal colic. Adverse effects: Constipation, Cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac arrest. Dosage: 1 tablet twice a day. Presentation: 10 Boxes of 2x15 tablets in a Multicarton.
