Composition:
Each tablet Contains:
Penicillin G Potassium 400mg
Description:
It is a beta lactum antibiotic and is an derivative
of Penicillin called Benzyl Penicillin. It is an
narrow spectrum antibiotic and has a limited activity
against Gram Positive Bacteria. It acts by interfering
with cell wall mucopeptide synthesis so that organisms
explode from internal pressure. Penicillin is
thus bactericidal and is active against multiplying
organisms since resting animals are not making
new cells. It is active against gram Positive
Bacilli, Both Gram Negative and Gram Positive
cocci and spirochaetes. Absorption through GIT
is rapid in infants and elderly and is mainly
distributed extracellularly. Penetration through
CSF and serous cavities is poor .
