Composition: Each tablet Contains: Furazolidone : 100 mg Metronidazole: 300 mg Description: It is a Combination which has been used for Trichomoniasis, Amoebiasis, Giardiasis, anaerobic infections. In this combination Furazolidone is an nitrofuran compound active against various Gram-Negative Bacilli including Salmonella and shigalla, giardia and Trichomonas.It is an efficatious alternative in Typhoid fever and is bactericidal. It does not significantly depress normal intestinal flora. Metronidaziole is an Nitroimidazole derivative effective against anaerobic Protozoa like T. vaginalis, E.histolytica, G.lamblia and non sporing anaerobic Gram negative bacilli such as bacterioides. It is an effective systemic Trichomonocide.It is rapidly absorbed through small bowel. Food does not effect its absorption. This combination is highly lethal for bacteria and Protozoa at its therapeutic dose because Metronidazole diffuses in all tissues and achieves high concentrations in CSF, bile, bone and abcess . Indications: *Used in chronic Amoebiasis. *Used in diarrhoea and dysentery caused by Bacteria or Protozoa. *It is also used in treatment of Trichomonas Vaginitis, Anaerobic infections (after colorectal or pelvic surgery, appendectomy, Osteomilytis, Brain or lung abcess ) * Used in ulcerative gingivitis, bacterial Enterites, food poisioning, giardiasis. Contraindications: *Intolerence to Alcohol. *Primaquine sensitivity, infants below one month. * Blood dyscrasis and Neurological disorders. Pregnancy: First trimester of Pregnancy contraindicated Lactation: Contraindicated. Dosage: 1 Tablet three times a Day. Presentation: 20x10 tablets in a Multicarton.
