Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Diclofenac Sodium: 50 mg
Paracetamol : 500mg
Description:
Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
agent and possesses analgesic and anti-inflammatory
activities and is mainly used for the relief of
pain and inflammation in various conditions like
musculoskeletal and joint disorders such as bursitis,
tendinitis, soft tissue disorders, dysmenorrhoea
and in other painful conditions and following
some surgical procedures. Diclofenac sodium is
used as an enteric coated granules to prevent
side effects of Diclofenac sodium such as gastro
intestinal bleeding, active peptic ulcer, NSAID
induced allergic asthma.
Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic action
with weak anti-inflammatory activity. These effects
are related to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
It raises pain threshold and is a good and promptly
acting antipyretic. Paracetamol does not stimulate
respiration or acid base balance and hence does
not increase cellular metabolism. It is an analgesic-
antipyretic of choice especially in patients in
whom salicylates or other NSAIDs are contraindicated.
Such cases include asthmatics.It also do not results
in gastric irritation or mucosal erosion at therapeutic
doses .So peptic ulcer patients and in whom salicylates
are not used because of the risk Reye’s
syndrome paracetamol is a safe drug to use.
Indications:
* Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Low back
Pain, Ankylosing Spondylitis and gout .
· Acute Musculoskeletal disorders, Pariarthritis(frozen
shoulders), tendinitis, tenosynovitis, sprains
and dislocations.
· Painful post operative conditions ,pain
following dental surgery.
· Used as analgesic and antipyretic in
any type of fever.
Contraindications: Active or
recurrent peptic ulcer, Hypersensitivity, asthmic
Pateints with an history of attacks by aspirin
or other NSAIDs.
Pregnancy : Contraindicated.
Lactation : Contraindicated.
Dosage : 1 Tablet thrice a day.
