Description:
Chloroquine is a one of large series of 4-aminoquinolines,
used for the suppression and
Treatment of malaria.
Composition: - Each ml contains: Chloroquine
40mg
as Chloroquine Phosphate
Indications:
1) Malaria
2) Rheumatoid Arthritis
3) Discoid Lupus Erythematosus
4) Extra intestinal Infections.
5) Photo allergic reactions
Contraindications: Chloroquine injections should
not be given to children below 5years. Prolonged administration
of higher doses for rheumatoid arthritis may lead to
corneal and retinal changes, which may be reversible.
Changes may occur long after the drug has been withdrawn.
Special Precautions: Prophyria renal of hepatic impairment,
pregnancy. Lactation. Periodic ophthalmic
Examination in long term treatment psoriasis, diseases
of haematopoietic or CNS.
Dosage: Malaria: - Initially 10ml IM followed by
5ml after 6 hours on 1st day.
Switch to oral route from 2nd day on wards.
Extra intestinal amoebas: 160-200mg. For 10-20 days
Presentation: Box of 10 x 30ml vials.
